Jidvei winery stands in the middle of Romania, geographically and also historically. Our vineyard represents the heart of a place filled with history and histories, some true, some legendary, which bring Transylvania - the land of Dracula - a touch of charm.
    Vine cultivation here has millenary atestations, and the bondage of different nations - Romanians, Hungarians, Sachsen - has led both vine cultivation and wine making to spawn techniques and skills with amazing results.
    Today the vineyard spreads on a surface of about 2000 hectares, situated on an altitude of 200-500 meters, most of the vineyards being set on slopes with southern exposure, which makes the sun rays and atmospheric circulation to favor vine cultures. The moderate temperatures of grapes' maturing period determines slow oxidation reactions, fact which helps to a continual accumulation of sugars,
aromas, to a not so accentuated reduction of acidity. All this together with the favorable types of soil
- forest brown and river bank - determine the production of high quality grapes for obtaining special, harmonious, lively and balanced wines.
    Benefiting of the most modern technology for vinification, specific for every wine variety, from
grape reaping, fermentation control, clarity, stabilization and maturation, ageing in barrels and bottles but also of highly qualified oenology experts, Jidvei wines have remarkable organoleptic properties.
    All this have made Jidvei wine to be regarded as the King of white Romanian wines and to win over 100 national and international awards.
