A stone throw's away from the Bend of the
River Danube lies Drâncei Hollow, where several roads converge.
Until recently, no one had any desire to visit this place, it was as if
some kind of jinx had tried to keep away life, laughter and youth from
the neglected and deserted landscape of ruins and lost dreams. This is
what Oprişor looked like a decade ago, until grape vines were planted
on much deserving soil. The wines can tell more about Oprişor than any story we might try to concoct over night. Beyond its traditions and its past, Oprisor is in the process of an exciting reinvention, in pace with modern society. As a result of investment in state of the art technology combined with winemaking expertise, its wines epitomize the link between the old and today's progressive world. Elsewhere, there are signs that this process might have been painful. This is not the case at Oprişor, where life has preserved its smooth and gentle flow, as always. The leap forward has been non-invasive and an invigorating and rewarding process of revival. |
