True to its Latin heritage, Romania has produced wine for 4,000 years; the enjoyment of wine is central to its culture. And now with the free access to the world’s largest internal market, Halewood Romania intends to demonstrate just why Romania is the eighth largest wine market in the world in volume terms.
Halewood International, the most significant independent producer of alcoholic beverages in Britain, has invested predominantly in Halewood Romania’s technology. The result enables wine lovers to better appreciate the country’s extraordinary winemaking diversity and potential. Today the group’s production comes from the 400 hectares of vines it owns in the three major wine growing areas of Dealu Mare, the
Transylvanian Plateau and Murfatlar.
With a diversity of international and regional grape varieties such as Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Feteasca Neagra and Alba, Halewood Romania is able to provide the domestic and international market with high quality wines, all of which have well defined personalities.
Halewood Romania’s overriding aim is to market Romanian wines to international expectations. It currently exports to more than 40 countries, which makes it the largest Romanian bottled wine exporter.
This year Halewood Romania is pleased to present its better known brands such as Cherry Tree Hill and Sparkling Rhein Extra, the most recent addition to the Byzantium range, the promising new Hyperion and La Umbra range .
