S.N.G.N Romgaz is a joint stock company of national interest. The main shareholder is the Romanian Government represented by the Ministry of Economy and Finance. Romgaz's main fields of activity are: geological research for the discovery of the new gas reserves, production underground storing of natural gas. Romgaz's objectives are: •    discovery of new gas reserves in order to support the production; •    rehabilitation of gas production in mature reservoirs; •    increase of production recovery and optimization factors; •    providing continuation, security, and flexibility in supplying natural gas; •    development of international cooperation activity; •    satisfying the customers; •    increase of efficiency in exploiting primary energy resources; •    implementation of information technologies within the management, operational and control information systems; •    enhacing organization structure and increasing the value of the human resource against the background of a continuously changing environment; •    implementation of an integrated HSQE management system.   Economic performance, environment protection and social responsibility Romgaz's strategy is based on the concept of sustainable development and simultaneously applies three basic principles: economic performance, environment protection and social responsibility. Economic performance Romgaz's main objective is to add value to the company, and the profit represents its rationale. The company is developing by implementing state of art technologies in the field of geological exploration, production and natural gas underground storage which are financed by its own sources or external sources. The company's economic and financial position is characterized by a very sound profitability and liquidity and its development strategy is focused on the increase of geological research expenses aiming at discovering new resources, on performing environment protection works, on improving the gas quality by means of installing gas dehydratation stations and on developing the underground storage activity. Environment protection Success and economic prosperity of the business framework derives from a healthy environment in which Romgaz carries out its activity.
